Cost
Total cost is $1700 per attendee, which includes a $650 fee to GraceWorks Alaska, the organizing mission group for housing, travel, mission, food, etc., round trip airfare on United ($980), and bus to and from airport.

Nature of Service
GraceWorks focuses on the neglected neighborhoods. We will work in multi-ethnic communities - including Samoan, Hispanic, Native American, Hmong, and African American. Our belief is that the Great Commission is NOT just for the World to go to church, but also for the Church to go to the
World!  GraceWorks partners with local churches and church planters to insure quality followup. We'll be feeding hungry, disadvantaged children a good lunch. In the afternoon we will work in a local park teaching unchurched children and youth the Bible. We will support that work with games, crafts, music and recreation.  We will host evangelistic community Park Parties in the evenings.

Free Time/Day Off in Alaska
On Saturday, we'll take you on a spectacular, jaw-dropping drive along Turnagain Arm - an inlet named by the famous explorer Captain Cook. Look for eagles and Beluga whales on your right and Dall Sheep on the vertical mountains to your left. Soon we arrive at magical Portage Valley where you are surrounded by majestic blue glaciers!  All aboard as we take an hour-long boat cruise to 100 yard high face of a giant glacier calving into Portage Lake. Then we take a short, easy stroll to another glacier where you can have a snowball fight if you wish! Maybe we will see a moose or a bear? On the way back to Anchorage, we will stop at the Wildlife Conservation Center and check out the grizzlies, black bears, caribou, moose, and other Alaskan critters. You'll love it!

Adult Chaperones Are Needed
If you are the parent or a leader in Connection Students and wish to go as an adult chaperone, you are welcome to apply join us for this extraordinary week of service! The cost for adults is $1,700.
