Just a week shy of the church moving into our current building, Larry joined our staff family in March 1999. In addition to leading the orchestra and his other worship ministry duties, Larry also serves in Stewardship Development, equipping others to live and spend biblically and debt-free.
Larry has a long and diverse history in music. He played trumpet and traveled six years with the Christian brass group, The King’s Brass. In 1997, Larry was a finalist for conducting auditions for the U.S. Air Force band program. And he used to own his own music arranging business. Larry is more than a musician. He is husband to Jen, father to three beautiful daughters, and an avid blogger.
1 Corinthians 15:58 has always been a favorite verse of Larry’s for two reasons: 1. The Apostle Paul encourages us to be excellent in the Lord’s work. Excellence is what Larry attempts to live out in his minister at FBR. 2. Paul reminds us that our labor here on earth is not in vain. There are spiritual dividends for the time and energy that we invest in God’s Kingdom work.
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
