Laura is among the staff members who were members of our church family long before they joined the staff family, which was in 1991 for her. Laura oversees the daily business administration of the church as well as oversees several teams, including facilities, security, finance, communications, cafe, and bookstore.
As a preacher's kid, Laura grew up seeing the ins and outs of daily ministry in churches around the Kansas City Metro, where she has lived her entire life. Having grown up here, Laura is used to the midwest weather highs and lows, but unlike most, Laura doesn't crave those breezy spring afternoons; she longs for the blistering 100-degree days in the middle of summer. Anything below 85 degrees and Laura is longing for a heater or a blanket. But no matter the weather, she is always ready for a little taste of some chilly ice cream, her favorite treat. Laura and her husband, John, have two children. Scott, aka Skooter the Clown, is studying and serving as a worship pastor in Texas, and Sarah is heading to college in the fall.
Jeremiah 29:11 brings comfort to Laura, giving her the affirmation that the Lord has her in the palm of His hands and will never let her go.
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' delares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future.'" Jeremiah 29:11
