Sign Up for Child Dedication

Our next Child Dedication will be held on Sunday, February 28, during the worship services at all campuses. This is a wonderful time to be surrounded by family and friends as you reflect on your commitment to raise your child in a Christ-centered home. Kid City Jr. is our weekly environment created especially for your infant-kindergartener. Our desire is to partner with you to move preschoolers to love God, love life, and love others.

We know things are busy at this stage of life and your children are learning and growing in amazing ways.  So, we believe in an active, hands-on approach to learning including a lot of jumping, singing, dancing, crafts and games. We plan a full hour for you child that includes Bible stories, songs, crafts, games, a small group time for prayer and discussion, and take home Parent Cue pages.

We look forward to helping your child learn: God made me. God loves me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

What to Expect

On your first visit, come to a Kid City check-in area. We will meet your family, check your child into our database system, and one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room.

We will ask for the following personal information: family members’ names, children’s names and birthdates, address, cell phone number, and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your child.

To make your visit run a little more smoothly, you can provide us with some basic information ahead of time by visiting the Plan Your Visit Page.

Classes are available for all Sunday morning services, opening 15 minutes prior to worship service and closing 15 minutes after worship service.

    Special Environments

    • Mom’s Nursing Room – available for moms with nursing babies.
    • Wiggle Room – available to accommodate families with younger preschoolers. This room has play areas for kids along with TV monitors of the service.

    Electronic Check-In
    • You may check your child in at any check-in computer in a Preschool or Children’s area.   After checking your child in, you will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit.  Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you keep the matching tag. The child’s tag also contains the parent’s cell number as well as additional information such as allergies.
    • After the service, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you. Parents may choose to send their badge with a family member or friend (9th grade or older) to pick up their child.
    • In the event that we need to contact you during the service, you will receive a call or text message. Please turn your phone to vibrate in the service so that we are able to reach you if needed.
    Secured Areas
    • Preschool classes are located in “secured” areas.  An electronic key card is required to enter these areas (Raytown Campus).  If you do not have an electronic key card, see the check-in volunteer for assistance.
    • We want for your child’s experience at church to be positive; therefore, we ask that you please do not walk into a classroom during the session.  This upsets the child whose parents have not arrived.  Please wait at the door and a teacher will greet you.
    • If your child has a food allergy, please be sure to include that information on your registration form so that it can be added to your child’s weekly nametag.
    • Toddlers and older preschoolers will receive a light snack of crackers.  Signs will be posted outside of a classroom door when other foods will be used as a teaching tool.  Please be sure to inform your child’s teacher if your child has an allergy to the provided item so our staff can provide an alternate food item or activity.
    • No outside food is permitted.  (Labeled bottles and sippy cups for infants- toddlers are allowed).
    • Children who have shown signs of fever, vomiting, or other contagious illness should be symptom-free for 24 hours before coming to Kid City Jr.
    • If a child develops a fever or other symptoms of illness while in our care, parents will be contacted as soon as possible.
    • Please note that we are unable to administer medications.
    What to Bring
    • Clearly labeled diapers, wipes, bottles and pacifiers. (Diaper bag and item tags are available at the check-in stations).
    • If your child is potty training, please bring a change of clothes. (In the cases of accidents while wearing underwear, parents may be contacted to assist with changes).
    • Details concerning feeding and napping schedules. (Whiteboards are available to record this information).

Every Sunday, our volunteers show up and work together in their unique roles to create a loving environment for our preschoolers. Kid City Jr. is completely run by volunteers. We could not exist without their leadership. Visit our serve page to see opportunities at all of our campuses.

Required: All Preschool Ministry volunteers are required to complete a background check and application to ensure the safety of our children.

    Trunk or Treat - CANCELED

With the current presence of COVID-19 within the Connection Point family, we would be unloving neighbors if we moved forward with our Trunk or Treat event. So as not to put our community at risk, we are canceling Trunk or Treat on both campuses. For decades we have provided a safe Halloween alternative event to show our community how much we love...
