What is your role at Connection Point?
I provide support for the Discipleship & Groups Ministry. I "get to" communicate with LifeGroup leaders and meet new people who come through the Connect Center to help them find a LifeGroup that will fit their needs.
What's your favorite part of serving at Connection Point?
I love meeting new people and helping them connect with others through LifeGroups or whatever their needs may be.
Tell us something about yourself!
I have a heart for serving. I am very blessed to be married to a Godly man and we have 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. I also have a large extended family We have a pet named "Lucy Maxine" who loves everybody and is not your typical snobby cat. I grew up in a Kansas City inner city church (I was a deacon's kid) and started playing the piano for church services when I was 12 years old. I am not a "fancy" piano player but I do love to play hymns. My favorite music is southern gospel and I can name most of the southern gospel groups by just listening to a song in one verse. I retired from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri in 2016 as a courtroom deputy . I love serving God and worshiping through whatever ministry I can. My favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 2:15 that I learned as a young child and reminds me regularly to read and study God's word to apply it everyday in my life.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to craft especially with paper. My husband and I love to visit antique stores and go to as many gospel music events that we can. One of our yearly projects is to host Dessert Night for family and friends (usually over 100 people) the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. It is a joyous time for us to get together instead of only seeing family and friends at funerals. We love to travel and usually travel the back roads wherever we go because the beauty we see there is a reminder of how big our God is and what he does in any setting.
