Main Points:
- Prophetically Promised – Jesus’ birth fulfilled God’s plan to send a Savior.
- Angelically Affirmed – Heaven itself announced the good news with praise and joy.
- Divinely Delivered – God accomplished salvation through a humble yet powerful arrival.
Discussion Questions:
For Kids
- Who told the shepherds about Jesus?
- Why was Jesus’ birth good news?
- How can we praise God for sending Jesus?
For Students & Adults
- What do the angels’ words teach us about who Jesus is?
- Why do you think God chose shepherds to hear the news first?
- How should the truth of Jesus’ birth shape our response today?
Application: This week, intentionally thank God for keeping His promises and bringing peace through Jesus.
Life Group
Scripture: Daniel 3
Christ/Gospel Connections:
All of Scripture points back to Jesus. In our study each week, every age group’s lesson includes a note about how the message connects to Christ. Use these Christ/Gospel Connections as a springboard for meaningful discussion about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
Preschool – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego only worshiped God. When we trust in Jesus, we worship only Him because He is the one true Savior.
Kids – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow down to anything but God. When we trust in Jesus and God brings us from death to life, we turn away from worshiping anything else. Jesus is Savior and Lord over our lives.
Students – The same God who is all-powerful, faithful, and present with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the flames will also deliver us through His Son—who is with us in the fiery trials of life and who saves us from the punishment for our sin.
Adults – God’s power saved Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fire, and that same power resurrected Jesus Christ. Even in dire circumstances, God makes a way to accomplish His will, as seen ultimately in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
