Sermon
Title: The Kingdom of God

When we build our lives on Christ, we can stand firm no matter what challenges come our way.
Main Points:

Scripture: Luke 4
Christ/Gospel Connections:
All of Scripture points back to Jesus. In our study each week, every age group’s lesson includes a note about how the message connects to Christ. Use these Christ/Gospel Connections as a springboard for meaningful discussion about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
Preschool – Jesus said He is the special one God promised to send. Jesus came to tell the good news that He is the Savior.
Kids – All people sin and need a Savior, but not everyone will believe in Jesus. Only those who believe the good news about Jesus and repent will be rescued from sin and death.
Students – Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, the prophet Isaiah wrote of God’s plan to send someone to bring good news and redeem His captive people. Jesus proclaimed that He was the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy–the promised Messiah. Jesus was rejected by the people, but it was through that very rejection–the cross–that He provided redemption from sin.
Adults – Jesus fulfilled Isaiah’s prophetic words as One who would come to preach the good news and release the captives, not just for the Jews but also for the Gentiles. The gospel is for all people, and salvation is for anyone who chooses to believe.
