Life Group
Scripture: Matthew 9; Mark 2; Luke 5
Christ/Gospel Connections:
All of Scripture points back to Jesus. In our study each week, every age group’s lesson includes a note about how the message connects to Christ. Use these Christ/Gospel Connections as a springboard for meaningful discussion about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
Preschool – Jesus helped a man who could not walk. Jesus also forgave the man’s sins. Jesus can do this because Jesus is God.
Kids – By forgiving the man’s sins, Jesus revealed that He is God. Jesus has power to heal and forgive. Only through faith in Jesus can people be saved from their sins.
Students – Jesus’ claim to have authority to forgive sins was supported by His miraculous healings. Jesus would later suffer and die to provide forgiveness of sin and would miraculously be raised from the dead on the third day.
Adults – Jesus, as God, has the power to heal a person spiritually and physically. This is ultimately seen through His resurrection that gives us salvation and forgiveness of sin through our faith and trust in Him. One day our bodies also will be gloriously resurrected.

- Commit to honoring God by strengthening your relationships at home, following His design for the family, and pointing one another to Christ.
- Ask God to help your family reflect His love, extend forgiveness, grow in obedience, and trust Jesus as the only Savior who gives lasting hope and new life.
Activity
Give each family member a sheet of paper with everyone's name written on it. Have each person write one encouraging quality or a way they have seen Christ at work in each family member's life. Share the notes together, thank God for one another, and pray that your family would continue to grow in Christlike love and faithfulness.
