Faith Talk – August 24, 2025

Faith Talks are designed to help you keep the conversation going beyond Sunday morning. Use this guide with your family or friends to reflect on the sermon and Life Group lesson, pray together, and put God’s Word into practice. Think of this guide as a starting place—then let God shape the conversation.

Sermon

Title: A Personal Introduction

Scripture: Galatians 1:1-5

Scripture Overview: Paul begins his letter to the Galatians by introducing himself as a messenger called by God, announcing a message of grace and peace through Jesus, and reminding believers of the moment Christ gave Himself for our sins. These verses set the stage for the entire letter, pointing us to the gospel as the center of our faith and the source of true freedom.

Main Points:
  • The Messenger of God’s Word
  • The Message from God’s Word
  • The Moment of God’s Word

Discussion Questions:
For Kids
  • Who gave Paul his message to share with the churches?
  • Why is it important that God’s Word comes from Him and not people?
  • How can you share God’s Word with your friends this week?

For Student & Adults
  • What difference does it make that Paul’s authority came directly from God and not from people?
  • How does the message of grace and peace in Galatians 1:3–4 encourage you in your daily life?
  • When have you seen God use a specific moment in your life to draw you closer to Him?
  • What did you take away from today’s sermon?

Application: How can we live differently because of what we’ve read/heard?

Life Group

Scripture: 1 Kings 10:1-10

Christ/Gospel Connections:
All of Scripture points back to Jesus. In our study each week, every age group’s lesson includes a note about how the message connects to Christ. Use these Christ/Gospel Connections as a springboard for meaningful discussion about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.

Preschool – Like the queen was amazed by the wisdom God gave King Solomon, people were amazed by Jesus’ teaching. Jesus is God’s Son. He taught with power because He is the King of everything. Jesus came to earth to show us how to live and to save us by dying and coming back to life.

Kids – The queen of Sheba was amazed at the wisdom God had given King Solomon. The people who heard Jesus teach were amazed at His wisdom, authority, and power. Jesus has all wisdom, authority, and power because He is God’s Son who came to live, die, and rise again.

Students – When Peter and John boldly preached the gospel, the people knew they had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13). It was evident in their bold words and actions. If we know Christ, then it should be evident in our lives as well.

Adults – Sharing godly wisdom should lead to sharing about God and ultimately Jesus Christ, the Son of God who came to save the world.

Discussion Questions:
For Kids
  • What amazed the queen of Sheba when she visited Solomon?
  • What amazed people about Jesus’ teaching?
  • What is something you’ve learned from Jesus that helps you today?

For Students & Adults
  • How does Solomon’s wisdom point us forward to Jesus?
  • What does it look like for our lives to show that we’ve been with Jesus?
  • How can you share godly wisdom in a way that points others to Christ?

Pray Together

  • Thank God for giving wisdom to Solomon and for sending Jesus, who is wisdom, authority, and power.
  • Commit to God that you will live in a way that shows you have been with Jesus.
  • Ask God to help you boldly share His truth and wisdom with others this week.
