Upcoming Events

Below is just a small selection of events and ministry opportunities. To see the full calendar, visit the Events Page.

Next Sunday, August 21

One Worship Service @ 9:30am
Beginning next Sunday, we will be a unified church, together in one service, with all generations worshiping together to glorify God at 9:30am in the Worship Center. For our youngest generation, we will have Kid City Jr. for birth-PreK (5 years). K-5th graders will worship with their families at 9:30am.

Life Groups @ 11:00am
As we move to one worship service, we will also shift all on-campus Sunday morning Life Groups for birth through senior adults to the 11:00am hour with the exception of the adult classes currently meeting at 8:15am.

Promotion Sunday
Next Sunday, our kids and students will move up a grade in Life Groups. In order to better align with age-appropriate programming and how the school organizes grade levels, we are changing the age parameters of our Kid Ministry and Student Ministry. Beginning next week, Kid Ministry will include K-5th grade, and Student Ministry will include 6th-12th grade. Remember: All K-12th graders will attend worship at 9:30am and Life Groups at 11:00am.

Choir Kickoff for Kids
WAM and WAM Jr. choirs kick off next Sunday at 5:00pm in Kid City! WAM stands for Worship Arts Ministry. We strive to teach kids many forms of worship arts — not just singing — that they can use for the rest of their lives. And we strive to minister to kids and their families and teach them to serve others through worship arts. WAM Jr. for 3 years (by 7/31/22) through kindergarten will learn songs, rhythms, and movements as we work toward a performance for family and friends. WAM, now for 1st-5th grade, will be working on a brand-new musical, Joy Ride: Cruising Through Philippians, which will be performed this November! Find full details at connectionpoint.tv/events.

Prayer Walk for Raytown Schools

Join us on Saturday, August 20, to pray over the Raytown schools, which are in constant need of prayer. We will be praying with insight on-site as we cover our children, teachers, and administrators with prayer. Meet with your church family and other churches from our community at 8:30am in the Atrium to kick off our time of prayer. For more information, contact Brad Drace at four@thefire.com or 816-335-5419.

Tee Up Fore Hope Golf Tournament

Join us for Tee Up Fore Hope on Thursday, September 15, to support Hope Network’s Vehicle Repair Program, helping those in need with vehicle repairs to provide much-needed transportation for work, doctor appointments, and independence from domestic violence living situations. Find out more and register at hopenetworkraytown.org.

Back-to-School Food Donations

As the school year gets started, we want to make sure our Hope Network food pantry shelves are well-stocked for the students in our community. We are seeking donations of canned vegetables, jars of spaghetti sauce, canned meats, boxed cereal, canned beans, and boxed pancake mix. You can bring donations to the ROC lobby or place them in the red barrels located in the lobby areas. To learn about volunteering with Hope Network, visit hopenetworkraytown.org.
